Working on my indoor lighting

I have been working on my indoor lighting, as I tend to give up and just switch back to auto on my camera. Taking a great online class trying to get some of the techniques down. This is my first week of practice and assignment photos.....

Another week has gone by.....

So another week down. I am really enjoying taking daily pictures, but I find we do the same things day in and day out....

My original photo is him actually laying down, and after some critiques I flipped it. I like this better, and even more so my son had a blast with this.

They were laughing so hard while I was trying to practice with these pictures. These two boys are a mess!

365 Project

Well I have made it another week of taking my daily pictures. I really hope I can make it a whole year as I can't wait to make a book with all of my pictures. I am trying lots of different post processing techniques in Lightroom trying to figure out what different things do, trying different presets, seeing what I like and don't like. So saying that, nothing is doing to look consistent for now.

Gorgeous sunrise Friday morning. I actually did not do anything to this photo. The colors were amazing and even more amazing as the sun came up. Great start to the day :)

Well moving on to the next week......

Project 365...the first 4 days

I have been thinking for a while that I wanted to start a 365 project, basically commit to taking one picture a day. When I finally made the decision I would start one January 1st, I didn't really think through the time commitment of this. Especially since I work full time, part time and have those 4 pesky kids...haha. But everything I have read from people who have actually completed one, have loved it. I want to improve with my photography, and I want to be able to look back years from now and see my kids growing daily, and remember our daily life that has long been forgotten. In addition to working on my photography "skills" I hope to finally get the hang of Lightroom and  Photoshop. So bear with me as my editing is all over the place. Ha! Hopefully I can stick with this project and push myself.
